Explanation
Background: This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director, on behalf of the Division of Facilities Management, to modify a contract with ABM Industry Groups, LLC to purchase custodial services for the Columbus Public Health Department located at 240 Parsons Avenue.
Amount of Additional Funds:
Amount of additional funding is in the amount of $41,398.00 to the facility management agreement. It is necessary to add the additional funding to cover additional cleaning services for the 3rd and 4th floors of the Health Department. The current contract covers the 1st and 2nd floors only.
Why Additional Funds Needed:
The funds are needed because the health department expanded their occupancy which allows them to better serve the community.
Why Additional Funding Nor Foreseen:
The health department did not anticipate the need for additional services at the time of the current contract due to the changing landscape of service and the increased need, the department decided to make this change to better service the community.
Why It Is Not In The City’s Best Interest To Award Through Other Procurement Process:
It is in the best interest to add the funds in order to keep the operations Columbus Public Health Department so that services can continue without interruption, for the immediate preservation of the public health, peace, property, safety and welfare.
How Price Determined:
The cost breakdown includes cleaning the 3rd and 4th floors 5 days a week. Beginning April 14, 2025 through October of 2025. The monthly rate is $6,281.00, therefore increasing the current contract by $41,398.00. The current contract as well as the modification includes labor, cleaning supplies and equipment.

Emergency action is requested so that custodial services at the Columbus Health Department can continue uninterrupted.
