Explanation
This is consent legislation with the State of Ohio, Department of Transportation (ODOT) for bridge reconstruction projects on four structures on the south outerbelt between US23 and SR104. Two bridges span the Scioto River and two bridges span a private access road. Work will consist of widening and replacement of bridge decks. Pavement between the structures will be replaced and widened to provide four lanes in each direction. This project is scheduled for construction in State Fiscal Year 2008. (FRA-IR270-53.40 PID 80707)
Fiscal Impact: The estimated construction cost of the project is $16,200,000.00, which will be funded by ODOT. There is no cost to the City of Columbus for this project. This legislation also authorizes the Director of Public Service to enter into the necessary agreements to complete this project.

To authorize the Public Service Director to enter into an agreement with the Director of the Ohio Department of Transportation to grant consent and propose cooperation with the State of Ohio for the widening and replacement of decks of four bridges on the south outerbelt between US23 and SR104 and widening of the roadway between these structures to four lanes. The following is an Ordinance enacted by the City of Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio, hereinafter referred to as the Local Public Agency (LPA), in the matter of the stated described project.
WHEREAS, the State of Ohio has identified the need for the described project:
This project proposes to widen and replace decks on four structures on the south outerbelt between US23 and SR104. Specific project locations are FRA-270-5340 left and right sides (over private access road) and FRA-270-5353 left and right sides (over the Scioto River). Pavement between the structures will be replaced and widened to provide four lanes in each direction; now, therefore
