Type: Ordinance Status: Passed
File created: 1/24/2007 In control: Public Service & Transportation Committee
On agenda: 4/23/2007 Final action: 4/25/2007
Title: To authorize the Public Service Director to expend $75,000.00 or so much thereof as may be necessary from the 1995, 1999, 2004 Voted Streets and Highways Fund for expenses related to creating and erecting bikeway signs and installing pavement markings in connection with the Transportation Division's 2006 capital improvements program and to authorize this expenditure from the 1995, 1999, 2004 Voted Streets and Highways Fund. ($75,000.00)
Explanation

The Public Service Department, Transportation Division, employs personnel that are engaged in fabricating and erecting signs and installing pavement markings to bikeways in Columbus. The personnel and cost of goods are budgeted within and paid from the division's operating fund, the Street Construction, Maintenance and Repair Fund. These costs can be capitalized. This ordinance authorizes the expenditure of a total of $75,000.00 or so much thereof as may be necessary from the 1995, 1999, 2004 Voted Streets and Highways Fund in the Bikeway Development project for reimbursement to the Street Construction Maintenance and Repair Fund for the costs associated with the bikeway signage. Doing so is consistent with earlier efforts by the Division to reimburse its operating fund when the operating fund incurred expenses more appropriate to capital improvement funding (Ordinances 1795-2004, 0191-2005, 1728-2005, 2162-2005, 0385-2006 and 2166-2006).

Fiscal Impact: Funding for this expenditure is budgeted and available within the Transportation Division's 2006 Capital Improvements Budget in the 1995, 1999, 2004 Voted Streets and Highways Fund in the Bikeway Development project.
