Explanation
BACKGROUND: This ordinance authorizes the Director of Finance and Management to enter into contract for the option to purchase Rockwell Automation (Allen Bradley brand) parts for the Department of Public Utilities in accordance with sole source provisions of the Columbus City Codes in accordance with FL006387. The term of the proposed option contract will be through November 30, 2017 with the option to extend one (1) additional one (1) year period, subject to mutual agreement of both parties.
The Purchasing Office negotiated the universal term contract in accordance with the provisions of a sole source procurement. These products are not available to the Department of Public Utilities from any other source.
This company is not debarred according to the Excluded Parties listing of the Federal Government and is not listed in the Auditor of State database for Findings for Recovery.
The Purchasing Office is recommending award of one contract to McNaughton-McKay.

Total Estimated Annual Expenditure: $200,000.00
This ordinance is being submitted as an emergency. Emergency action is necessary to avoid contract lapse for the purchase of components to critical systems involving wastewater treatment.
FISCAL IMPACT: Funding to establish this option contract is budgeted in the General Fund. The Department of Public Utilities will be required to obtain approval to expend from their own appropriations.

To authorize the Finance and Management Director to enter into one (1) contract for the option to purchase Rockwell Automation (Allen Bradley brand) parts from McNaughton-McKay in accordance with relevant provisions of the Columbus City Code relating to sole source procurement. To authorize the expenditure of one dollar ($1.00) to establish a contract from the General Fund; and to declare an emergency. ($1.00)
