To recognize Sole Classics on its 20th Anniversary

WHEREAS, Sole Classics, established in 2006 in Columbus, Ohio, has grown over the past twenty years into a nationally recognized sneaker boutique and cultural institution in downtown Columbus, rooted in community, creativity and entrepreneurship; and
WHEREAS, the year 2026 marks the 20th Anniversary of Sole Classics, a milestone which is worthy of being recognized not only by the City of Columbus, but also its residents for two decades of innovation, cultural impact, and commitment to uplifting the local community; and
WHEREAS, Sole Classics have consistently invested in Columbus through various partnerships, mentorship, collaborative initiatives, and other opportunities supporting young creatives, entrepreneurs, artists, and community leaders; and
WHEREAS, through its work and presence, Sole Classics has helped elevate Columbus as a destination for sneaker culture and independent retail excellence while demonstrating the power of Black-owned business to inspire economic growth and cultural connection; and
WHEREAS, Sole Classics will commemorate its 20th Anniversary with celebratory events and community-centered activities honoring its legacy, loyal supporters, and continued vision for the future; and
WHEREAS, the City of Columbus recognizes the importance of businesses and institutions that strengthen neighborhoods, foster cultural pride, create economic opportunity, and help contribute to the vibrancy of Columbus; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That Columbus City Council hereby recognizes and celebrates Sole Classics on its 20th Anniversary.
