Explanation
Automated side loader collection vehicles are an integral part of the Refuse Collection Division's mechanized collection system. This ordinance authorizes the purchase of fifteen (15) automated side loader trucks to replace aging, high maintenance expense vehicles. Formal competitive bids were solicited and opened by the Purchasing Office on October 12, 2006 (Solicitation #SA-002187 GRW). The complete refuse collection truck consists of the cab, chassis and body. One (1) bid was received for the cab and chassis and two (2) bids were received for the body.
