To recognize the 10th anniversary of the Greater Southeast Area Commission and its dedication to supporting and representing the Greater Southeast community.
Body
WHEREAS, the Greater Southeast Area Commission was founded in 2015 to serve as a representative body for residents, businesses, and stakeholders across the Greater Southeast area of Columbus; and,
WHEREAS, over the past 10 years the Commission has played a vital role in strengthening communication between residents and City government, ensuring that community perspectives inform decisions on development, zoning, transportation, and public services; and,
WHEREAS, the Greater Southeast Area Commission has advanced initiatives that promote neighborhood safety, economic opportunity, youth engagement, beautification, and the overall vibrancy of the community; and,
WHEREAS, through public meetings, community events, partnerships with City departments, and collaboration with local organizations, the Commission has worked to elevate resident voices and foster a stronger, more connected community; and,
WHEREAS, the continued work of the Greater Southeast Area Commission is essential to supporting equitable neighborhood growth, protecting community identity, and addressing the evolving needs of residents across the Greater Southeast area.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That this Council hereby commemorates the 10th anniversary of the Greater Southeast Area Commission and extends its gratitude for the Commission’s leadership and commitment to the Greater Southeast community.
