To recognize and celebrate Sustainable Columbus for receiving the Public Sector Ripple of Hope Award

 

 

Body

 

WHEREAS, IMPACT Community Action has prioritized the fight against poverty and has worked to address its root causes in Central Ohio for 16 years; and

 

WHEREAS, each year, IMPACT Community Action support individuals in our community by providing a range of services, including housing stability, utility assistance, emergency rental aid, workforce development training, and energy efficiency programs; and

 

WHEREAS, on Thursday, October 24, 2024, IMPACT Community Action will host the Annual Ripple of Hope Awards celebration at The Boat House to honor community leaders who are making a difference in the fight against poverty; and

 

WHEREAS, Sustainable Columbus works to reduce climate change impact in our community to protect the environment and improve the quality of life for both today’s residents and future generations; and

 

WHEREAS, the City of Columbus, through its Sustainable Columbus office, is committed to imparting equity and environmental justice through strong climate action and is guided by the Columbus Climate Action Plan which has a community-wide goal of carbon neutrality by 2050 and 45% reduction in emissions by 2050; and

 

WHEREAS, Columbus City Council is proud to have community leaders who prioritize sustainable initiatives and provide continued community service to our residents; now, therefore

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council does hereby recognize and celebrate Sustainable Columbus for receiving the Public Sector Ripple of Hope Award
