Explanation
1. Background
This ordinance authorizes an amendment to previously approved Ordinance No. 3232-2024 by correcting the name of Holt Road to Holt Avenue.

Ordinance 3232-2024, passed December 16, 2024, authorized the Director of Public Service to request that the Director of the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) establish a reasonable and safe prima facie speed limit on Sunbury Road from Holt Road to Innis Road/McCutcheon Road. The legislation must be amended to correct Holt “Road” listed in the ordinance when it should have been to be Holt “Avenue”.

2. Fiscal Impact
There is no fiscal impact to the City as a consequence of the passage of this legislation.

WHEREAS, an engineering study conducted by the Franklin County Engineer’s Office determined that a speed limit reduction would be appropriate on Sunbury Road from Holt Avenue to Innis Road/McCutcheon Road; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Public Service, Division of Traffic Management, reached the same conclusion after conducting its own investigation; and

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 3232-2024, passed December 16, 2024, authorized the Director of the Department of Public Service to request that the Director of the Ohio Department of Transportation determine and declare, based upon the recommendation of the Department of Public Service, Division of Traffic Management, that the prima facie speed limit be lowered to 40 miles per hour on Sunbury Road from Holt Road to Innis Road/McCutcheon Road on the basis of traffic engineering studies and investigations conducted under the direction of professional engineers; and
