Explanation

Background:
- A modification to Contract No. EL001153 is needed for additional professional services related to the Lazelle Center Design.
- Amount of additional funds to be expended: $32,910.00. The original contract cost was $378,900.00 plus a contingency of $37,000.00; the total modified cost is $448,810.00.
- Reasons additional goods/services could not be foreseen initially: Design plan was revised and the length of time from when consultant was hired until project was bid caused changes. Additional services requested include design development, wetlands delineation, wage increases, inspection fees, and additional reimbursable expenses.
- Reasons other procurement processes are not used: It is in the City's best interest to have the contractor finish the project due to the contractor being familiar with the job.
- How cost of modification was determined: A proposal has been reviewed and approved by the Recreation and Parks Department for the additional work under the terms and conditions of the original contract.
