Explanation
BACKGROUND: The City of Columbus owns certain real property located at 657 South
Ohio Avenue. The City desires to enter into a short-term lease agreement with My Father's
House, a non-profit organization that provides services to the community, for a six month
period. The City will receive $300.00 per month for the term of the lease agreement.
FISCAL IMPACT: No funding is required for this legislation.
EMERGENCY JUSTIFICATION: Emergency action is requested to prevent delay in the
implementation of the short term lease.
Title
To authorize the Director of the Department of Development to enter into a six month lease agreement to lease a city-owned property at 657 S. Ohio Avenue to My Father's House; and to declare an emergency.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Columbus owns certain real property know as 657 S. Ohio Avenue, Columbus, OH 43205; and
WHEREAS, the City of Columbus has negotiated a mutually satisfactory lease agreement with My Father's House, a non-profit organization, for the lease of said real property; and
WHEREAS, the City will receive $300.00 per month for the six month term of the lease agreement; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Department of Development, in that it is immediately necessary to enter into this lease agreement due to Lessee currently occupying the leased premise without a lease agreement in effect, all for the preservation of the public health, peace, property, safety and welfare; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
Section 1. That the Director of the Department of Development is hereby authorized and directed to execute any and all documents approved as necessary to enter into a lease agreement by and between the City of Columbus and My Father's House for a certain real property known as 657 S. Ohio Avenue, Columbus, OH 43205 for the period of July 1, 2005 through December 31, ...
