To honor and congratulate Robert H. (Tad) Jeffrey for receiving the Ohio Widlife Center's first Lifetime Achievement Award in Conservation on May 19, 2011.

WHEREAS, for more than half a century, Robert H. (Tad) Jeffrey has strived to foster efforts to protect natural spaces in Columbus and Central Ohio and expand our parkland for people and wildlife habitat; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Jeffrey retired as chairman of the family business, the former Jeffrey Galion Company and currently the Jeffrey Company, in Columbus, Ohio, and is a published and well regarded expert on investments and portfolio management; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Jeffrey's longstanding commitment to the community, to philanthropy, and to volunteerism has led him to be involved in a wide array of nonprofit groups, including Columbus College of Art and Design, the Board of Commissioners of the Columbus and Franklin Metropolitan Park District, the Ohio Historical Society, and Nationwide Children's Hospital; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Jeffrey will be honored with the first Lifetime Achievement Award in Conservation from the Ohio Wildlife Center on May 19, 2011 at the organization's annual WildNite for Wildlife event in Columbus, Ohio; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That this Council does hereby recognize and congratulate Robert H. (Tad) Jeffrey for receiving the Ohio Wildlife Center's first Lifetime Achievement Award in Conservation and thank him for his continued service and dedication to the Columbus community.
