To honor and recognize Elder Michael D. Reeves, Sr. as he celebrates his 35^th Pastoral Anniversary on April 17, 2011.

Body

WHEREAS, Michael D. Reeves, Sr. was born in Columbus, Ohio on May 27, 1949 to Curvington & Mary Reeves; and

WHEREAS, Elder Reeves, Sr. is married to Minister Deborah Reeves and is the proud father of three sons; Dr. Michael Reeves, Jr., Bryan and John; and

WHEREAS, Elder Reeves, Sr. was pronounced Elder on October 12, 2003 by Bishop Jerome H. Ross, Sr. of the Tridestone Baptist Church; and

WHEREAS, Elder Reeves, Sr. serves as the church community liaison and weekday afternoon announcer on WJYD, Joy 106.3 radio station; and

WHEREAS, Elder Reeves, Sr. has served the great people of Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church for 35 marvelous years; and

WHEREAS, under his leadership, Elder Reeves, Sr. has increased the growth of the church physically and spiritually, grown the Ministerial Staff, and the Community Development Corporation; and

WHEREAS, Elder Reeves, Sr. is known for his favorite saying, "I want to be a blessing to someone today"; now, therefore

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

That this Council does hereby honor and recognize Elder Michael D. Reeves, Sr. as he celebrates his 35^th Pastoral Anniversary on April 17, 2011 and thank him for his contribution to the Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church and this community.
