To honor, recognize and celebrate the life of Howard Eugene Nolan and extend our sincerest condolences to his family and friends on the occasion of his passing on Saturday, December 3, 2011.

WHEREAS, Howard Eugene Nolan was born in Dayton, Ohio to John and Sallie Nolan; and
 
WHEREAS, Howard Eugene Nolan was a proud graduate of Dayton Dunbar High School and the Ohio University class of 1957; and
 
WHEREAS, Howard Eugene Nolan was a member of the "Soulful Bobcats" and was an organizing member of the 1st African American Greek Fraternity of the Ohio University. He was a lifetime member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity (Alpha Rho Lambda Chapter), the Merry Makers Club, Inc., The Ohio State University President's Club and Janus '54 Club in Chillicothe; and
 
WHEREAS, Howard Eugene Nolan was a veteran of the United States Air Force; commissioned as Captain, serving at bases in the Philippines and Japan; and
 
WHEREAS, Howard Eugene Nolan was Principal Emeritus and co-founder of Moody Nolan Architecture and Engineering, LTD and served as Deputy Director for the Ohio Department of Transportation; and
 
WHEREAS, no one truly comprehends the loss that you feel or the sadness that you must be enduring. No one can know the ways of eternity or understand when those we love leave this earth before we are ready to say good-bye. Just know our deepest sympathy and prayer is that God will give you His help, His strength and His hope during your time of bereavement; and
 
WHEREAS, Howard Eugene Nolan was a friend to many and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him; now, therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
 
That this council does hereby honor, recognize and celebrate the long and fulfilling life of Howard Eugene Nolan and extend our sincerest condolences to his family and friends on the occasion of his passing.
