Explanation

January 18, 2005

Background: Approval of Ordinance 0112-01 on January 22, 2001 established a six year contract with Maximus, Inc. for the purpose of providing software support for CourtView 2000, the Municipal Court Case Management System. Passage of this Ordinance will provide funding for the period April 1, 2005 thru March 31, 2006, the fifth year of the six year contract.

Fiscal Impact: Funds for this budgeted expenditure are available within the Municipal Court Clerk 2004 Special Revenue Fund appropriations.

Emergency: Emergency legislations is requested to maintain ongoing and uninterrupted software support for CourtView 2000, the Municipal Court Case Management System.

Whereas, Council approved Ordinance 0112-01 on January 22, 2001 to establish a six year agreement with Maximus, Inc. for CourtView 2000 primary software and secondary web-site software support, and

Whereas, it is necessary to secure support for the period April 1, 2005 thru March 31, 2006, the fifth year of the six year agreement; now therefore

Whereas, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Municipal Court Clerk's Office, in that it is immediately necessary to provide for ongoing and uninterrupted software support for the Municipal Court's case management system, thereby preserving the public health, peace, property, safety, and welfare; now, therefore,


BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
