Explanation
BACKGROUND:
Need: This legislation authorizes the Director of Public Safety to enter into a contract with Mount Carmel Occupational Health for testing services as needed for the Division of Fire's Health and Physical Fitness Program. This contract is mandated by the current agreement between the City of Columbus and IAFF Local 67 Firefighters Union.
Bid Information: The Division of Fire has completed a review of the sole proposal submitted to the City in response to a formal request for proposal (RFP) for Health and Physical Fitness testing services. The Fire Division is recommending the selection of Mount Carmel Occupational Health, the sole bidder. Vendor was selected based upon defined criteria included in the RFP and the requirements of the Columbus City Codes.

Emergency Designation: Emergency action is requested so that this testing service can continue pursuant to the collective bargaining contract between the City of Columbus and the IAFF Local 67 Firefighters Union.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Budgeted Amount: Funds are available within the Division of Fire's FY2007 General Fund Budget specifically budgeted for this purpose.
