To celebrate Keep Columbus Beautiful’s 40th anniversary and to recognize their dedication to public service, community improvement, and environmental stewardship.

WHEREAS, Keep Columbus Beautiful, a national affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, is celebrating their 40th anniversary in 2026; and
WHEREAS, Keep Columbus Beautiful is a community improvement program that emphasizes public education and volunteer service, with a focus on quality-of-life environmental issues including litter, recycling, and neighborhood beautification; and
WHEREAS, Keep Columbus Beautiful facilitates a variety of volunteer events, with the goal of building community, promoting civic engagement, and making our city a sustainable community for all; and
WHEREAS, Keep Columbus Beautiful facilitates the Adopt an Area Program, allowing groups in our community to care for roads and surrounding public spaces by picking up trash along their adopted street segment; and
WHEREAS, in 2025, Keep Columbus Beautiful successfully coordinated community litter clean-up events, where over 9,400 volunteers collected an impressive 496,111 pounds of litter; and
WHEREAS, the City of Columbus is grateful for community partners who demonstrate a commitment to public service and environmental stewardship; and
WHEREAS, this Council encourages all residents and community members to volunteer with Keep Columbus Beautiful, clean up litter in their neighborhoods, and help make our City a more resilient and sustainable community; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council does hereby celebrate Keep Columbus Beautiful’s 40th anniversary and recognizes their dedication to public service, community improvement, and environmental stewardship.
