To recognize and celebrate St. Mark’s Lodge No. 7 as the Keep Columbus Beautiful Outstanding Adopt an Area Partner.

WHEREAS, Keep Columbus Beautiful, a national affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, is a community improvement program that emphasizes public education and volunteer service, with a focus on quality-of-life environmental issues including litter, recycling, and neighborhood beautification; and
WHEREAS, at their 40th Anniversary Celebration, Keep Columbus Beautiful recognized St. Mark’s Lodge No. 7 as their Outstanding Adopt an Area Partner; and
WHEREAS, St. Mark’s Lodge No. 7 has been an Adopt an Area Partner for over 20 years; and
WHEREAS, St. Mark’s Lodge No. 7 was recognized as the Keep Columbus Beautiful Outstanding Adopt an Area Partner for their dedication to hosting regular litter clean-ups along East Long Street and Miami Avenue in Bronzeville; and
WHEREAS, the litter clean-ups hosted by St. Mark’s Lodge No. 7 are vital efforts in regard to reducing pollution, protecting wildlife, and beautifying our local community; and
WHEREAS, the City of Columbus is grateful for community members, organizations, and partners who provide unwavering support and dedicate countless volunteer hours, with the goal of making our city a sustainable community for all; and
WHEREAS, Columbus City Council encourages all residents and community members to volunteer with Keep Columbus Beautiful, pick up litter in their neighborhoods, recycle, and promote other sustainable practices; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council does hereby recognize and celebrate St. Mark’s Lodge No. 7 as the Keep Columbus Beautiful Outstanding Adopt an Area Partner.
