Explanation

BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Director of the Department of Development to modify Contract EL009091 with Community Research Partners by increasing the contract amount by $9,790. Funding for this increase is from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Fund. These additional funds will allow the contactor to expand the community outreach and participation portion of the scope of services for the Consolidated Planning process.

Community Research Partners (CRP) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. CRP will assist the Department of Development with the identification of priorities of housing and non-housing needs, coordination strategies, development of five-year goals, strategies, objectives and performance measures and prepare the final document for public review and submission to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Emergency action is requested in order to complete the plan in a timely manner and meet submission deadlines.

FISCAL IMPACT: $9,790 is available from the 2009 CDBG Fund budget for this contract increase with Community Research Partners.
