To recognize Ms. Druelton Bagley on receiving the 2009 Outstanding Community Service Award from the National Council of Negro Women, Inc., Columbus Section.

Whereas, Ms. Dru Bagley worked for the State of Ohio, Department of Health for-30 ½ years having retired in May 2005, where she was actively involved in the development of Workplace/Domestic Violence Prevention Issues, and served as President and Vice President of the Health Chapter of OCSEA/AFSCME Local 11; and
Whereas, Dru is a graduate member of the Columbus Citizens Police Academy, past vice president of the Greater Hilltop Resource Center and the Hilltop Residents Council; and
Whereas, Dru was recently re-elected to the Greater Hilltop Area Commission (GHAC) where she has served for eight years and served as Chair and Coordinator for the Liquor Permit Ad hoc Review Committee; developing the procedures for reviewing problematic liquor permits; and
Whereas, Ms. Bagley is Chair of the Human Services and Education Committee where she has conducted a series of Violence Prevention Activities that included the community recreation centers, Highland Elementary after-school program and Common Ground Community Church; and
Whereas, Dru is a member of the AFSCME Retiree Chapter, the Immigrant and Refugee Women's Health Project, the Columbus Neighborhood Health Center's Community Capital Connections Committee, a board member of the Local Office of Minority Health, a board member of the Residential Community Reinvestment Housing Council and Co-Chair of the Westside Community Health Advisory Committee which is one of three developed by the Columbus Public Health.; now, therefore
Be it resolved by the Council of the city of Columbus:
That we do thank Dru Bagley for her service to the Columbus community and congratulate her on receiving the 2009 Outstanding Community Service Award from the National Council of Negro Women, Inc., Columbus Section.
