Explanation

The Department of Public Utilities solicited 114 vendors for the purchase of custodial services (SA004304). Of those solicited, 26 had certified MBR/M1A status and 3 had certified F1 status. On March 29, 2012, the Department of Public Utilities received and opened six bids, 4 had certified MBR/M1A status. The lowest responsive and responsible and best bid was AA Janitorial, Inc. at $155,868.00. It should be noted that AA Janitorial, Inc. omitted a letter in the Invitation to Bid documenting their experience. AA Janitorial, Inc. has since provided the appropriate documentation. The omission does not affect the amount of the bid or give the bidder a competitive advantage over the other bidders. This award is for twelve (12) months of custodial service as defined in Solicitation SA004304. This contract contains a one year renewal option. The contract compliance number for AA Janitorial, Inc. is 31-1190027 and expires on January 12, 2013. The vendor does have MBE status.

The company is not debarred according to the Excluded Party Listing System of the Federal Government or prohibited from being awarded a contract according to the Auditor of State Unresolved Findings for Recovery Certified Search.

FISCAL IMPACT: The Division of Power and Water has allocated $183,000.00 for custodial services in the 2012.
