Explanation
1. Need: This ordinance will authorize the Director of Public Utilities to execute a modification to the sewerage service agreement with the City of Upper Arlington, Ohio. The purpose of this agreement will be to amend the City of Upper Arlington's sanitary sewer service area so that it conforms with the water service area as shown on the revised map attached hereto.

WHEREAS, on August 12, 1992, the Director of Public Utilities executed a Sanitary Sewer Service Agreement on behalf of the City of Columbus with the City of Upper Arlington, Ohio by authority of Ordinance No. 1970-90, as passed by Columbus City Council on July 30, 1990, and as authorized by Ordinance No. 75-92 passed by the Upper Arlington City Council on June 8, 1992; and
WHEREAS, this Agreement is effective for a period commencing on August, 12, 1992 through August 12, 2020; and
WHEREAS, the City of Columbus, and the City of Upper Arlington are desirous of modifying the subject Sanitary Sewer Service Agreement for purposes of conforming the sanitary sewer service area to that of the Division of Water's service area for the City of Upper Arlington; at the earliest practicable date; now therefore;
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
Section 1. That the Director of Public Utilities be, and hereby is, authorized to execute a modification agreement for sanitary sewerage service between the City of Upper Arlington, Ohio and the City of Columbus, Ohio to provide for the discharge of sewage, industrial wastes, water or other liquid wastes from residential and modestly-sized neighborhood scale commercial facilities within a specified service area as shown by exhibit within the agreement that is on file within t...
