Explanation
BACKGROUND The Fire Division is in need to purchase SCBA brackets for its apparatus; this ordinance authorizes and directs the Finance and Management Director to issue a purchase order to Finley Fire Equipment Company Inc. in the amount of $89,600.00, for the purchase of SCBA brackets for the Fire Division from the Safety Bond Fund, in accordance with Solicitation SA002635.

Bid Information/Contract Compliance: Bids were solicited via the Purchasing Division via Solicitation SA002635, with Finley Fire Equipment Company Inc. submitting the lowest, best, responsive and responsible bid.

Contract Compliance: 310816583, expires 3/8/09

Emergency Designation: This legislation is to be considered an emergency measure to allow for the immediate use of funds, and immediate purchase of this equipment.

FISCAL IMPACT: Unencumbered cash is available in the Fire Division's Safety Voted Bond Fund for this purchase. A total of two-hundred (200) brackets are being purchased for fire apparatus.

WHEREAS, the Fire Division is in need of a SCBA brackets for its apparatus; and

WHEREAS, bids were solicited via the Purchasing Division as Solicitation SA002635, with Finley Fire Equipment Company Inc. submitting the lowest, best, responsive and responsible bid; and

WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Department of Public Safety, Division of Fire, in that it is immediately necessary to purchase said brackets for the aforementioned purpose for the preservation of the public health, peace, property, safety, and welfare; Now, Therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBU...
