To honor Oyauma  M. Garrison for receiving the Outstanding MBA of the Year for 2007 from The National Black MBA Association.

WHEREAS, the National Black MBA Association, established in 1970, is dedicated to developing partnerships that result in the  creation of economic and intellectual wealth for Blacks; and
 
WHEREAS, Mr. Garrison is currently the President of the National Black MBA Association Columbus Chapter, having previously served as Vice President of Operations; and
 
WHEREAS, in addition to his involvement with NBMBAA, Mr. Garrison also serves as the 2nd Vice President for the Young Executive Board of the Capital Club, as well as holding memberships in the 100 Black Men of Columbus, National Wild Turkey Federation, Safari Club International, American Numismatics Association and Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity; and
 
WHEREAS, the NMBMAA presents one Outstanding MBA of the Year award, selected from members of 40 nationwide chapters; and
 
WHEREAS, in order to qualify for MBA of the Year, a candidate must be living the mission, vision, and values of the organization as well as express outstanding leadership, creation of intellectual and economic wealth opportunities in the African-American community, and be engaged business and education partners in these initiatives; and
 
WHEREAS, this distinguished honor has been bestowed upon Mr. Garrison for his efforts in  business as well as in his community; now, therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That the Columbus City Council recognizes Mr. Oyauma M. Garrison for his monumental recognition from the National Black MBA Association.
