Explanation
Background: The City of Columbus, Department of Public Utilities, Division of Power and Water, desires to acquire certain real property and sanitary easements in connection with the proposed construction of a water tank, located in the vicinity of Hines Road and Old Refugee Road. The following is an ordinance to authorize the City Attorney to acquire fee simple title and lesser interests, contract for professional services, and to expend the monies for payment of acquisition costs in connection with the water tank's construction.
Fiscal Impact: The Department of Public Utilities, Division of Power and Water, has determined funding for this project will be from the Water Works Enlargement Voted Bonds Fund. A transfer within the fund as well as an amendment to the 2010 Capital Improvements Budget will be necessary.
Emergency Justification: Emergency action is requested to allow acquisition activities to begin as soon as possible thereby allowing for timely construction of the water tank which will benefit the City.

To authorize the City Attorney to acquire fee simple title and lesser interests, contract for professional services, to authorize a transfer and expenditure of $50,000.00 within the Water Works Enlargement Voted Bonds Fund for costs in connection with the Hines Road Storage Tank Project, to authorize an amendment to the 2010 Capital Improvements Budget, and to declare an emergency.
