Explanation
BACKGROUND: The Health Department has a need to make funds available to contract withThe Columbus Medical Association Foundation. The Columbus Medical Association Foundation is the fiscal agent for the Council on Healthy Mothers and Babies (Formerly known as the Franklin County Leadership Council to Reduce Infant Mortality). The Council will continue to provide services associated with the centralized appointment scheduling system for Franklin County for first prenatal care appointments. This contract is awarded in accordance with provisions of Section 329.02 of the Columbus City Code.The contract period is September 1, 2003 through August 31, 2004. The Federal Identification number for the Columbus Medical Association Foundation is 31-0679012.Emergency action is required to ensure the continued operation of the Community Access program.
FISCAL IMPACT: This contract is entirely funded by a grant from the Ohio Department of Health. The program does not generate revenue or require a City match. The monies are budgeted in the 2003 Health Department Grants Fund.

WHEREAS, funding is available from the Ohio Department of Health to contract with the Columbus Medical Association Foundation, to continue to provide services associated with the centralized appointment scheduling system for the Community Access grant program; and,
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Columbus Health Department in that it is immediately necessary to enter into contract with the Columbus Medical Association Foundation for the immediate preservation of the public ...
