Explanation
BACKGROUND
Ordinance 1540-2024 authorized the Director of the Department of Development to enter into a not-for-profit services contract with the Franklinton Special Improvement District of Columbus, Inc. (the “Franklinton SID”) to authorize City grants not to exceed the amount of one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000.00). The purpose of this ordinance is to amend the party to Ordinance No. 1540-2024 to authorize the Director of Development to enter into the contract with the Franklinton Board of Trade instead of the Franklinton SID in order to include all of Franklinton in the public realm plan and not just the area that the Special Improvement District covers.

WHEREAS, the Franklinton Special Improvement District of Columbus, Inc. is a qualified nonprofit corporation that partners with local business and property owners that attract and sustain businesses, and implements improvements in the Franklinton neighborhood, pursuant to the plans for public improvements and public services approved by Resolution Nos. 0069X-2020, 0103X-2020, and Ordinance No. 1895-2020; and
