BACKGROUND: This ordinance will provide payment to the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) for the SR 161 urban paving project. This project includes resurfacing of State Route 161, from just east of the intersection of State Route 161 and Sawmill Road and proceeding eastward to the east limit just west of the structure over the Olentangy River and just east of the SR-315 bridge lying within the City of Columbus. Total work length of the project is 3.1 miles. (FRA-161-8.90 PID 76145)
Emergency action is requested to meet ODOT's schedule to return contracts and other paperwork by early January 2007 in order to bid the project at the end of January 2007. Construction of this project is estimated to begin in April, 2007 and end in September, 2007.
FISCAL IMPACT: The total share of the cost for the City is now estimated in the amount of $101,968.00, but the estimated amount will be adjusted so that the City's ultimate share of the cost of the improvement shall correspond with the actual cost when said actual costs are finally determined by ODOT. Funds for the City's share of this project are budgeted in the 2006 Transportation Division Capital Improvement Budget.
