To recognize and celebrate the great works of the Columbus Section of the National Council of Negro Women

WHEREAS, and The National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) was founded in 1935 by Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, is celebrating her 90th anniversary.
WHEREAS, The NCNW has served as a beacon of leadership, advocacy, and service for Black women, their families, and communities across the nation.
WHEREAS, and The Columbus Section continues this legacy by providing mentorship, scholarships, and programming that empower women and youth throughout Central Ohio.
WHEREAS, and The Annual Fundraiser Luncheon not only raises essential funds for scholarship initiatives, but also celebrates community service, leadership, and the enduring impact of NCNW.
WHEREAS, this year’s theme of Celebrating Our Legacy of Service, we recognize the Columbus Section’s 42nd Anniversary along with its 23rd Annual Fundraiser Luncheon; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council hereby recognizes and celebrates the great works of the Columbus section of the National Council of Negro Women.
