Explanation
Background:
This ordinance will enable the Director of Finance and Management to purchase one (1) custom designed forestry body, in accordance with the terms and conditions of formal bid SA001885 GRW, to replace an existing water tank body that is mounted on a City owned cab with chassis truck. The forestry body equipment is in replacement of equipment that is no longer used in daily operations and replacement will result in a useable work unit for the Forestry Section of the Recreation and Parks Department. The water tank will be traded into Schodorf Truck Body & Equipment Company and credited towards the total price. The Recreation and Parks Department solicited bids from 28 vendors and Schodorf Truck Body & Equipment Company was the only company to make a bid. The award memo is attached to this document.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

That the Director of Finance and Management be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a purchase order with Schodorf Truck Body & Equipment Company for one custom designed forestry body, at a cost of $24,104.00, in accordance with the terms and conditions of formal bid SA001885 GRW.
