Explanation
1. BACKGROUND
This ordinance authorizes the Director of the Department of Neighborhoods to make payment to Kevin Mackey for work performed. Kevin Mackey, an employee of the Department of Neighborhoods, inadvertently worked 32 hours more than the allotted 480 hours allowed for limited temporary employees. Mr. Mackey served as a 480 311 Service Representative within the Department of Neighborhoods 311 Call Center. A payment of $825.60 is necessary to pay Mr. Mackey for wages earned by inadvertently working 32 hours over the allotted time of 480 hours.
2. FISCAL IMPACT
Funding is available in the General Fund for the requested payment.
3. EMERGENCY DESIGNATION
The department requests an emergency action to pay Mr. Mackey at the earliest date possible.

WHEREAS, Kevin Mackey, an employee of the Department of Neighborhoods, inadvertently worked 32 hours more than the allotted 480 hours allowed for limited temporary employees, and
WHEREAS, the Department of Neighborhoods, 311 Call Center employed Mr. Mackey as a 311 Service Representative, and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operations of the Department of Neighborhoods in that it is immediately necessary to compensate Mr. Kevin Mackey for wages earned by inadvertently working 32 hours over the allotted time of 480 hours, for the preservation of the public health, peace, property, safety, and welfare; now, therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
SECTION 1. That the Director of Neighborhoods is hereby authorized to make payment to Kevin Mackey for time inadvertently worked over 480 allowed total hours.
