Explanation
Article 32.3 of the Collective Bargaining Contract with the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), Ohio Council 8, Local 1632, requires that any modifications to the contract be agreed between the parties. Memorandum of Understanding #2004-01 has been executed by the parties to amend Appendix A (classification listing) to satisfy the agreement set forth in Side Letter #6 of the contract between the parties.

The passage of this ordinance indicates Council's acceptance of Memorandum of Understanding #2004-01, a copy of which is attached hereto as an Attachment.

Emergency action is recommended due to impact on the recommended rates of pay.

Employees which more than five (5) years of continuous service in the classifications of Plant Maintenance Mechanic and Plant Maintenance Supervisor I will automatically move to the next pay range.

WHEREAS, representatives of the City and American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), Local 1632, entered into Memorandum of Understanding #2004-01, a copy of which is attached hereto as an Attachment, as a result of Side Letter #6 of the contract which amends Appendix A of the Collective Bargaining Contract between the City and AFSCME, Ohio Council 8, Local 1632, April 1, 2002 through March 31, 2005; and

WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the City in that it is immediately necessary to amend the Collective Bargaining Contract between the City and AFSCME, Ohio Council 8, Local 1632, by accepting Memorandum of Understanding #2004-01 to implement the recommended rates of pay, thereby p...
