To praise and honor the life of Rev. Dr. Deborah Ardienne Dennis, 1951-2026

WHEREAS, Rev. Dr. Deborah Ardienne Dennis was born on August 15th, 1951 to the late Valdienne Ryan and Arthur Roy Dennis, Sr.; and

WHEREAS, as an academic and student of life, Rev. Dr. Deborah Dennis earned a bachelor, master, and doctoral degree; and

WHEREAS, as an employee and professional, Rev. Dr. Deborah Dennis dedicated thirty years of excellence to advocating for the Ameritech Telephone Company; and

WHEREAS, as a spiritual leader and shepherd, Rev. Dr. Deborah Dennis preached with a love, strength, and compassion that resonated with people since she accepted her sacred calling in 1989; and

WHEREAS, Rev. Dr. Deborah Dennis became a published writer, adjunct professor, professional associate, Minister Emeritus of Christian Education, and the first woman to serve as the Dean of the Congress of Christian Education for the E.U.M.B.A.; and

WHEREAS, the City of Columbus wishes to commemorate Rev. Dr. Deborah Dennis’ life and console those who cherish her memory such as her only son, and heart, David Lorenzo Dennis Sr. (Nikki); grandchildren David Jr., Amanda, and Devin; great-granddaughter Ka’lena Eldridge; siblings Jeffrey (Angela) Dennis and Marcia Dennis; sister-in-love Rita Dennis, and all the other people whose lives were touched by her light; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council does praise and honor the life of Rev. Dr. Deborah Ardienne Dennis
