Title
To honor and recognize the North American Interfaith Network's annual meeting and conference.
Body
WHEREAS, The North American Interfaith Network has come to Columbus, Ohio during the Ohio Bicentennial for its annual meeting and conference; and
WHEREAS, the organization began in Wichita, Kansas in 1988 and has had annual interfaith conferences in cities all across North America since 1996; and
WHEREAS, The Interfaith Association of Central Ohio, one of over sixty Interfaith member organizations, will host the 2003 conference from August 9th - 12th, with the theme, "Journeys of Faith, Freedom, and Justice"; and
WHEREAS, The Interfaith Association of Central Ohio, incorporated in 1986 continues to build a trusting community across faith traditions among its member traditions: Baha'I, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Islamic, Jain, Jewish, Native American, and Sikh; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
The Columbus City council commends both the North American Interfaith Network and the Interfaith Association of Central Ohio for providing faith traditions and the general public, ways to communicate in the midst of continuing international conflicts.
