Explanation
The City of Columbus owns territory located in Genoa Township, which includes the territory of the City’s Hoover Reservoir and adjacent parkland. Both the City and Township have determined that it is in the best interest of their respective residents to enter into an Annexation Agreement that allows for the annexation of City-owned parcels located in the Township pursuant to the provisions of Ohio Revised Code Sections 709.192.
The Annexation Agreement includes Exhibits A and B, depicting the Agreement Territory Map and the specified parcels, respectively.

Title
To authorize the Director of Public Utilities to enter into an annexation agreement between the City of Columbus and the Board of Trustees of Genoa Township, Delaware County, Ohio ($0.00).
Body
WHEREAS, the Parties are political subdivisions located entirely within the State of Ohio; and
WHEREAS, the City owns certain real property located in the Township that the City seeks to annex to the City upon the property becoming contiguous to the City; and
WHEREAS, the Parties wish to cooperate in matters affecting the territory to which this Agreement pertains; and
WHEREAS, the City and the Township have determined that it is in the best interest of their respective residents, citizens, and taxpayers to enter into this Agreement upon the terms hereinafter set forth;
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS
SECTION 1. That the Director of Public Utilities is hereby authorized to enter into an Annexation Agreement between the City of Columbus and the Trustees of Genoa Township, Delaware County, Ohio.
SECTION 2. That the Parties agree that the City may annex the City-owned parcel(s) identified in Exhibit A and listed in Exhibit B (“Annexation Property”).
SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
