Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Development Director to amend the agreement with the S. G. Loewendick & Sons, Inc. for the demolition of the structures at the Woodland Meadows apartment complex. Ordinance No. 0645-2007 authorized the Development Director to enter into contract with S. G. Loewendick & Sons for this demolition. It has been determined that an additional $48,500 is needed to prevent debris and other substances from polluting the storm water run off in the Woodland Meadows complex.
The Contract Compliance Number for S. G. Loewendick & Sons, Inc. is 31-4420502, and is effective through 8/31/2009.
Emergency action is requested so that the demolition of these structures will not be delayed.
FISCAL IMPACT: Funds are available within the Special Income Tax Fund No. 430 for this purpose.

Whereas, it has been determined that an additional $48,500 is needed to prevent debris and other substances from polluting the storm water run off in the Woodland Meadows complex; and
Whereas, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Department of Development in that it is immediately necessary to authorize the Development Director to increase the contract with S. G. Loewendick & Sons for the demolition of the Woodland Meadows Apartments so that completion of this project will not be delayed, thereby preserving the public health, peace, safety, and welfare; now, therefore,
