To Recognize Bishop Timothy Clarke for his Service to Columbus and to Celebrate his 40th Pastoral Anniversary

WHEREAS, Bishop Timothy Joseph Clarke is a faithful pastor, anointed teacher, strategic thinker, and an articulate and prolific preacher; and
WHEREAS, Bishop Clarke became the Senior Pastor of First Church of God in February 1982 after receiving the call in November 1981; and
WHEREAS, During his 40 years leading First Church of God, Bishop Clarke has served in countless Christian leadership positions at the local and national levels and has been privileged to sit on the boards of organizations and associations that have benefitted the Columbus community. He is the recipient of numerous honors and awards, including induction into the Morehouse College Board of Preachers; and
WHEREAS, Bishop Clarke’s standard of excellence is apparent in his many degrees including (but not limited to) his Master of Ministry from Southern California School of Ministry, Doctorate of Divinity from Mid-America University, and Doctorate of Humanities from Wilberforce University; and
WHEREAS, Bishop Clarke is the husband of Lady Clytemnestra Lawson Clarke, and a loving father and grandfather; and
WHEREAS, Bishop Clarke is a treasured community leader and advocate for the people of Columbus; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That this Council does hereby recognize Bishop Timothy Clarke for his service to Columbus and celebrate his 40th pastoral anniversary
