Explanation
This ordinance authorizes the City Clerk to modify a grant agreement with Our Community Group in support of the Our Food Truck Festival event.

The City Clerk entered into an agreement with Our Community Group on June 23, 2023 to support the Our Food Truck Festival event.

This ordinance authorizes the modification of PO392751 by adding $5,000 to the grant agreement. This modification is to provide additional support for the entrepreneurs participating in the Our Food Truck Festival event.

Emergency action is necessary to ensure the organization receives the anticipated financial support in the form of reimbursement as soon as possible, as the food truck festival event took place on July 8th and 9th.

Fiscal Impact: Funding is available within the Neighborhood Initiatives subfund.

Body
WHEREAS, Our Community Group hosts the annual Our Food Truck Festival event which is a community event in Columbus and creates opportunities for culinary entrepreneurs; and

WHEREAS, Columbus City Council seeks to support entrepreneurs in the City of Columbus to promote pathways to financial stability, wealth-building, and equity; and

WHEREAS, Columbus is a thriving incubation environment for culinary entrepreneurs and food truck festivals are a crucial element of this ecosystem and opportunities for business growth; and

WHEREAS, an emergency exists in that it is immediately necessary to authorize the City Clerk to modify into a grant agreement with Our Community Group to ensure timely reimbursement of expenses intended to be supported by the City of Columbus for the event which took place in early July; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
