Explanation
This is consent legislation with the State of Ohio, Department of Transportation (ODOT) for bridge reconstruction projects on several structures. The first is US40 (on the East side of the City) over I-270. Work consists of deck overlay, partial and full depth deck repairs, overlay approaches, remove concrete median and replace with single slope barrier, replace tops of backwalls, reset rockers and heat straighten north fascia beam. Other structures to be rehabilitated on the southeast side of the City include I-270 Collector Distributor Road over I-70 and I-270 Collector Distributor Road over ramps, I-270 Collector Distributor Road over the Norfolk Southern Railroad, I-270 over the Norfolk Southern Railroad and I-270 over Big Walnut Creek and Noe Bixby Road. Work for this project consists of micro-silica concrete deck and approach slab overlay using hydro demolition, and partial and full depth deck repairs. This project is scheduled for construction in State Fiscal Year 2008. (FRA-IR270-41.32 PID 79951)
Fiscal Impact: The estimated construction cost of the project is $2,600,000.00, which will be funded by ODOT. There is no cost to the City of Columbus for this project. This legislation also authorizes the Director of Public Service to enter into the necessary agreements to complete this project.
