Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Director of the Department of Development to enter into contracts with ADAMH and Communities-in-Schools for the provision of services for a twelve-month period. The total amount of these contracts is $297,330.
This ordinance represents programs to be funded following the Department of Development's application process. This legislation targets those social service agencies that will provide help to in-school youth through the ADAMH Behavioral Health Services and the Communities-in-Schools Resource Coordinator Programs. In addition, the city supports other programs and activities so that the greater population is assured access to information, technical and other community assistance. This funding will allow the process to continue.
Emergency action is necessary to avoid causing interruptions in the delivery of program services.
FISCAL IMPACT: Funding for these contracts is allocated from the 2008 General Fund Budget. In 2008, a total of $2,359,260.00 has been allocated to fund social service programs through the General Fund.
