Explanation

BACKGROUND:

Need: A transfer of funds is needed from the Law Enforcement Contraband Seizure Fund for the Division of Police. The funds were received from seized and forfeited property and must be used solely for law enforcement purposes as specified in Ordinance 1850-85. The funds are needed for Division of Police required cash match for the School Sports Violence program funded by a Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant (JAIBG).

FISCAL IMPACT

These funds are from the Law Enforcement Contraband Seizure Fund so there will be no effect on the financial status of the General Fund.

To transfer $6,111.00 from the Law Enforcement Contraband Seizure Fund to the School Sports Violence Grant Account. ($6,111.00)

Body

WHEREAS, monies were received from seized and forfeited property; and

WHEREAS, funds received from these forfeitures must be solely used for law enforcement purposes as specified in Ordinance #1850-85; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to transfer funds from the Law Enforcement Contraband Seizure Funds to provide the required cash match for the Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant School Sports Violence program, now therefore

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

Section 1. That Law Enforcement Contraband Seizure Funds are transferred as follows:
