To honor and recognize Patrick D. Rossetti's service to the Columbus Community as Principal of St. Francis DeSales High School.
WHEREAS, Patrick D. Rossetti has been dedicated to the education of young people for 34 years; and
WHEREAS, Patrick D. Rossetti became principal of his alma mater, DeSales High School, in 1979; and
WHEREAS, Patrick D. Rossetti has overseen the academic development of thousands of students, fostering an environment that allowed 92 percent of the school's graduates to move onto higher education and gave graduating classes the ability to receive an average of $3 million a year in scholarships; and
WHEREAS, Patrick D. Rossetti was instrumental in the school twice being awarded the United States Department of Education's "Blue Ribbon of Excellence" in 1993 and 2002; and
WHEREAS, Patrick D. Rosetti has overseen many improvements to DeSales High School such as construction of new science rooms and labs, an addition for art classes and the Alumni Football Stadium; and
WHEREAS, Patrick D. Rosetti has received many awards for his commitment to education including the Bishop's Exemplary Principal Award in 2003; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That we do hereby recognize and congratulate Patrick D. Rossetti for his commitment to education and his service to the students past and present of DeSales High School and the to citizens of the City of Columbus.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be presented to Patrick D. Rossetti as a token of our esteem.
