Explanation
1. BACKGROUND:
This legislation authorizes modifying the following contracts, and an amendment to the 2002 Capital Improvements Budget, in connection with the construction of the Jackson Pike Wastewater Treatment Plant New Headworks Project:
a. Professional engineering services agreement with Burgess & Niple, Limited, for purposes of providing engineering services during construction ($182,805.00). The Division of Sewerage and Drainage has determined that these services cannot be performed by city personnel at this time, and has planned for the procurement of these services on a routine basis. The contract total including this modification is $7,386,586.00. The cost of these services is consistent with the those provided for under the existing contract.
b. Professional services agreement with H.R. Gray & Associates, Inc., for purposes of providing construction management services ($162,855.00). The Division of Sewerage and Drainage has determined that these services cannot be performed by city personnel at this time, and established this contract for for purposes of funding project needs incrementally by modification at such time as the construction contract work is ready to proceed. The contract total including this modification is $7,386,586.00. The cost of these services is consistent with the those provided for under the existing contract.
