Explanation
The purpose of this legislation is to authorize the Director of Public Utilities to enter into contract with Lake Erie Electric Inc for the Thickening Centrifuge Console Replacement at the Jackson Pike Wastewater Treatment Plant. The amount of funding needed for this ordinance includes contingency money.
The consoles operate the thickening centrifuges at the Jackson Pike Wastewater Treatment Plant. A few of the alarms are not operational and some of the instrumentation are aging or have become obsolete and replacement is necessary.
The Director of Public Utilities opened bids on November 3, 2004. Two (2) bids were received. The following is a tabulation of those bids:
Lake Erie Electric: $88,500.00
The Superior Group: $134,000.00
SUPPLIER: Lake Erie Electric Inc (34-1536829)
FISCAL IMPACT: $108,500.00 is needed and budgeted for this project. Funding includes contingency money.
Emergency legislation is being requested so that repairs and replacement can begin at the earliest time available

WHEREAS, the Jackson Pike Wastewater Treatment Plant operates two (2) thickening centrifuge consoles that need replacement of instrumentation that has become aged and/or obsolete, and
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Utilities opened bids on November 3, 2004 and two (2) bids were received, and
WHEREAS, the Division of Sewerage and Drainage selected the lowest, responsive and responsible bidder, Lake Erie Electric Inc. and,
