Explanation
Background: This ordinance authorizes the Director of the Recreation and Parks Department to enter into contract with Waibel Energy Systems, Inc. for the Woodward Park Community Center HVAC Repair 2025 Project. The contract amount being authorized by this ordinance is a total of $64,500.00.
The current HVAC system at Woodward Park Community Center has experienced critical failures involving three compressors, eight condenser fans, and other components. The system is no longer fully operational. Emergency repairs are needed to ensure the HVAC is restored for the community that uses this facility.
Vendor Bid/Proposal Submissions (Office of Diversity and Inclusion designation status):
Bids were advertised through Vendor Services, in accordance with City Code Section 329, on October 9, 2025 and received by the Recreation and Parks Department on October 30, 2025. Bids were received from the following companies:
Waibel Energy Systems, Inc.: $64,500.00
General Temperature Control: $68,937.00
After reviewing the bids that were submitted, it was determined that Waibel Energy Systems, Inc. was the lowest and most responsive bidder. ProCon, Waibel Energy Systems, Inc. and all proposed subcontractors have met code requirements with respect to prequalification, pursuant to relevant sections of Columbus City Codes Chapter 329.
