Explanation
This ordinance authorizes the City Clerk to enter into a grant agreement with Labourers for Christ Committee in support of Columbus GospelFest.

Since 1984, the Columbus GospelFest (CGF) has been free and open to the public and strives to provide Central Ohio with an opportunity to experience positive and encouraging artistic expressions by diverse local and national artists. The 2024 CGF will be held on Saturday, August 31st at Genoa Park, 303 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215.

The CGF provides artistic performances that include jazz, poetry, painters, poets, mime, choirs, soloists, instrumentalists, spoken word, hip hop, liturgical dance, playwrights, graphic artists, and crafts. The mission of the CGF is to provide Central Ohio and the surrounding communities with an opportunity to experience positive and encouraging artistic expression by utilizing a platform that highlights diverse types of arts & artists. Additionally, the CGF provides awareness on wellness and health issues in the community through collaboration with other programs and organizations at CGF events.

Emergency action is necessary for reimbursement for expenses that have already occurred.

Fiscal Impact: $10,000 will be appropriated and expended from available funds within the Neighborhood Initiatives subfund.
