To Honor and Celebrate Carol Williams for a Lifetime of Gospel Ministry, Faithful Service and Dedication to the Columbus Community

 

Body

 

WHEREAS, Carol “Knee-C” Williams’ is a gifted gospel singer, licensed missionary, and lifelong servant of the Columbus community whose journey in ministry through song began at the tender age of five, when she performed her first solo, “Since Jesus Came Into My Heart”; and

 

WHEREAS, as a member of the Church of Tomorrow Choir at Greater Liberty Temple Church of God in Christ, she served faithfully as YPWW President and Vacation Bible School leader, and currently serves her community as a licensed missionary and Choir President at Unity Temple Church of God; and

 

WHEREAS, while deepening her musical foundation she provided background vocals for numerous recording artists visiting Columbus, earning her recognition as one of Columbus’ legendary gospel singers; and

 

WHEREAS, her album releases of “Jesus Said It” and “Oh How I Love Jesus” led to a national recording label signing with Tyscot which launched her into a national travel ministry testament; and

 

WHEREAS, beyond her music ministry, Knee-C has served the Columbus community as a licensed cosmetologist since 1978, bringing dignity, beauty, and compassion to families in their most vulnerable moments through her work with several Columbus funeral homes, including C.D. White & Son Funeral Home, Diehl-Whittaker Funeral Service, White’s Funeral & Cremation Service, Affinity Memorial Chapel, The Chapel of Peace, and others; and

 

WHEREAS, as the eldest in her family Knee-C embraced the role of mother figure to her siblings and to many others pouring love, nurture, and sacrifice into her community; now, therefore

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council does hereby recognize and celebrate Carol “Knee-C” Williams for a lifetime of gospel ministry, faithful service, and dedication to the Columbus community.
