To recognize and commend Norm Dolder for his many years of community service.
Body
WHEREAS, Norm Dolder in 1984 was a founding member of the Friends of Goodale Park and was its President from 1987 through 2003; and
WHEREAS, Norm Dolder during this period helped the Friends of Goodale Park by raising tens of thousands of dollars through fundraising and grant writing for improvements to the park; and
WHEREAS, over the years, the Friends of Goodale Park has nurtured a strong cooperative relationship with Columbus Parks and Recreation; and
WHEREAS, Norm Dolder also gave his time and energy as a Victorian Village Commissioner from the late 1970's through the mid 1980's; and
WHEREAS, Norm's home on Neil Avenue was on the first Victorian Village Society Home Tour, and Norm volunteered and helped organize every subsequent Victorian Village Society Home Tour for the last 25 years; and
WHEREAS, Norm has decided to move to Naples, Florida to slow down a bit; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That this Council does hereby, recognize and commend Norm Dolder for his many years of community service to the Friends of Goodale Park and the Victorian Village Commission and that we wish him well in his new home in Florida.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be presented to Norm Dolder, as a token of our high esteem.
