Explanation
Background:
This ordinance will enable the Director of Recreation and Parks to accept a grant from and enter into an agreement with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Watercraft, and appropriate said funds to the Recreation and Parks Grant Fund.
Grant funding in the amount of $11,450.00 will be used to provide various boating education programs for little or no cost to the general public.
Emergency action is requested to allow funding to be available for summer programming.
Fiscal Impact:
$11,450.00 in grant funding will be used exclusively to provide various boating education programs.
The fiscal impact of this ordinance will be to reduce the Recreation and Parks Grant Fund's unappropriated balance by $11,450.00.
The expenditure of $11,450.00 is budgeted in the Recreation and Parks Grant Fund.

WHEREAS, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Watercraft has awarded the City of Columbus, Recreation and Parks Department, a grant to support boating education programs; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to accept said grant and appropriate said funds; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Recreation and Parks Department in that it is immediately necessary to accept grant and appropriate funds to allow funding to be available for summer programming; now, therefore
