Explanation
Background: The City of Columbus, ("City") is engaged in a joint program with The Ohio State University for the construction of new police substation to be located in the campus area. The City desires to purchase that real property commonly known as 1566 Summit Street and 212 East 11th to provide a parking area to compliment the new police substation. John A. Wasko ("Owner") desires to sell the subject property to the City. The following legislation authorizes the Director of the Department of Finance and Management to execute a purchase contract to purchase the aforementioned real property, and to expend $290,000.00 for cost relevant to its acquisition.
Fiscal Impact: The Department of Finance and Management has determined that $290,000.00 for the purchase of the subject property will come from the Safety Voted Bond Fund.
Emergency Justification: Emergency action is requested to allow this acquisition to proceed in agreement with the closing transaction deadline and other terms and conditions of the purchase contract.
